Frequently asked questions about Vélovak

In the press conference of 18 December, the Dutch government announced that the Netherlands will go into lockdown from Sunday 19 December until at least Friday 14 January 2022. In order to immediately slow down the spread of the omikron variant, the number of contact moments must be further limited. For this reason, throughput locations such as our event hall have been closed. This lockdown does not currently affect the continuation of Vélovak on 18, 19 & 20 September 2022 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem, The Netherlands. Below we answer the most common questions.

The current lockdown is in effect until at least Friday 14 January 2022. Vélovak will not take place during this period and therefore the current lockdown does not affect the continuation of Vélovak. The situation will be reassessed by the Dutch government on Friday 14 January 2022 on the basis of an OMT (Outbreak Management Team) recommendation. As soon as more is known, we will let you know immediately.

You get access to the event with one of the following certificates:

Vaccination certificate:

Full corona vaccination with a European approved vaccine. In the Netherlands a vaccination is usually valid from 14 days after you have been fully vaccinated. Were you vaccinated with Janssen on or after 14 August 2021? Then your vaccination will be valid in the Netherlands after 28 days. Usually, the Corona Check App can automatically retrieve your vaccination certificate from the systems of RIVM or GGD.

Recovery certificate:

Proof of a positive corona test from at least 11 days and no more than 180 days ago.

Test certificate:

A negative test result from less than 24 hours before your visit to the fair. Both a PCR and antigen test are valid.

You can do that via the Corona Check App. You show the QR code in the Corona Check App when you enter. Don’t have a smartphone? Or do you prefer your Corona ticket on paper? You can also print out the corona ticket via the website www.coronacheck.nl.

A corona ticket is obligatory from the age of 13. From the age of 14 onwards a corona ticket and a valid ID (identity card, passport or driving license) must be presented.

The presentation of other proof (yellow vaccination booklet or test certificate) is also possible. This also applies to the proof of vaccination that you received during the vaccination in combination with an ID card.

The corona ticket will be checked before entering the fair. In order to speed up the flow, we would like to ask you to keep your corona ticket and a valid ID at hand. More information about the Corona Check App can be found at www.coronacheck.nl. For any questions you can contact the helpdesk via +31 (0)800-1421 (free of charge).

The check applies to everyone who visits the fair:
– Visitors (from 13 years on)
– Exhibitors (stand crew)
– Employees of Easyfairs

No, because the occupancy rate during those moments is low and keeping a distance of 1.5 metres is quite possible. Moreover, the open doors provide extra air circulation.

Yes, the check takes place every day of the event. Even if you leave the exhibition floor during the event, another check is carried out.

The safety of visitors, exhibitors and our own staff is our top priority. We are delighted to be able to open our doors again, but at the same time we want to keep the risk of infections as low as possible. Moreover, a negative test is only valid for 24 hours. That is why we have decided to set up a permanent corona check that has to be passed at all times before entering the exhibition floor. We hope you will understand this safety measure.

No, without a valid corona ticket it is not possible to visit the fair.

Yes, visitors aged 14 and over are required to show a valid ID (identity card, passport or driving licence) in addition to the corona admission ticket.

The situation will be reassessed by the Dutch government on 14 January 2022 on the basis of an OMT (Outbreak Management Team) opinion.

Sanitizer stations will be placed at various points on the exhibition floor so that you can disinfect your hands if you wish. Furthermore, there will be the possibility to disinfect hands at every stand. In addition, we have further optimised our air-conditioning systems in the past period. This helps to limit the transmission of respiratory infections such as COVID-19. In addition, there is now an even healthier and more pleasant indoor climate in our exhibition halls.

The role of a fair is very important in many ways. There are several sectors in the Netherlands that have experienced the negative consequences of the corona pandemic. The Dutch government therefore sees fairs as the drivers of the recovery of the economy. This is where supply and demand come together, tomorrow’s innovations are presented and Dutch business meets. There are industries that realize up to 40 percent of their annual turnover on exchanges. A trade fair is also indispensable for other service providers, such as stand builders. Furthermore, the local and regional economy also benefits when a trade fair or event takes place, such as hotels, taxi services and restaurants.

Recently, we conducted a large-scale survey among visitors to trade fairs taking place this autumn of 2021. In total, more than 6,000 respondents took part. This showed that 90% of the visitors intend to visit fairs again this autumn.

We have already organised the first fairs and we see that there is a great need to see each other face-to-face again. Moreover, the first reactions from exhibitors show that visitors now visit the fair in a very targeted way and that the quality of the visitors is very high.

Easyfairs Netherlands follows the government’s measures in this regard. European countries have agreed that every country must have a system for corona certificates. They call this the EU Digital Corona Certificate (EU DCC). International exhibitors and visitors can enter the exhibition floor with their corona certificate.

No, in case of cancellation by the customer, the cancellation conditions as included in the relevant agreement apply. In the unlikely event that Easyfairs itself (have to) decide to cancel an exhibition or event, Easyfairs will examine on a case-by-case basis whether the relevant event can be moved to a new date.

We post regular updates on our website and social media channels.

Access only with a corona admission ticket in combination with your ID.
